It’s basically Guso Drop’s version of “the mix” as well as a member call-out type deal. To be honest, calling this a song might be reaching a little bit. The EP opens with the self-titled song “Guso Drop”. How heavy is it exactly? Well, let’s talk about that shall we? That being said, their music is some pretty heavy stuff. They claim to be the “heaviest idols in the world”, because let’s face it everyone needs a gimmick. Guso Drop have put out several CD releases so far, and “Yume shi” is the latest entry in their discography. That song is still great by the way, but yeah things just kinda fell into place from there and I ended up finding out about Guso Drop. It was 2& that I initially discovered through their song “Negaposi Monster”, back when it was still a duo scenario. For those of you who don’t know, Saki (or, the red one) is also a solo artist under the “2&” moniker. I’ve been an admirer of them for a while now, although I did kinda take a roundabout way of getting into them. Still, disclaimers and all that, especially in this day and age where people get “triggered” by the slightest thing.Īnyways, today Guso Drop finally get an article written about them on this site.

Although I guess you’ll probably be fine as long as you don’t press play on any of the videos. That’s kinda exciting right? This release is also a bit heavier than the music I normally review, so readers of a sensitive disposition might want to take this moment to click away now. Oh look, I’m reviewing a release from a group that I’ve never written about before (on this site anyway). Juice=Juice’s new single dropped October 26th.My thoughts on the new EP from “the heaviest idols in the world” Guso Drop.
GUSO DROP REDDIT FULL
All in all it’s a solid, fun song and Juice=Juice manages a full comb with this single. The vocals are full of energy and enjoyable as is expected from Juice=Juice. The instrumentals are pretty much pure pop, but have enough of a kick to stand out. As mentioned above, it’s kind of an anthem type song with the primary message being “get off your ass and deal with shit”. Too often more “rough” idol PVs toss away their edge for at least a few scenes to throw in idol smiles and whatnot, but this one stays the course and benefits greatly from it. The atmosphere is consistent and the expressions on screen are carried throughout every scene change. Sometimes presentation is everything, and for this production that’s exactly what I like best about it. It’s a good PV turned great by its attitude. Also, props to Takagi Sayuki for wearing some of the tightest pants ever. The uniqueness of the outfits and dull colors make for good eye candy and somehow feel like they fit the them as well. Kanatomo aside, everyone looks pretty fantastic in this PV. It certainly hasn’t spoiled her awesome performance skills. I’m really glad she’s sticking around despite dealing with an ongoing medical condition. Her top is pretty light and free-flowing, leading to more than a few shots of blatant fan service. Simply put, this PV is four minutes of evidence as to why she needs a photo book as soon as possible. Most noteworthy of the PV’s visuals is Kanazawa Tomoko.

The outfits are pretty fashionable and dancing friendly. It also doesn’t hurt matters that the girls look pretty fantastic. Tying it all together is the inevitable dance shot, which also contains quit a bit of attitude with more subdued, serious expressions. A few of the scenes do add a little humor to the video, but mostly it’s just good filler. The scenario scenes themselves are nothing too over the top, mostly following the lyrics’ lead and portraying things quite literally. What better way to get your point across than getting up in someone’s grill, right? Anyway, this PV has a higher than average amount of close up shots with the girls singing and reacting to scenarios. It’s a message I should probably take to heart myself. The lyrics of the song focus heavily on encouraging people to stop being so damn lazy. The previous PVs for this single relied on atmosphere and edginess. Juice=Juice really hit a triple play with this single, man. This one is pretty much the last must do from the last few weeks. This may be the last catching up entry I do for the great Hello! Project invasion of 2016. Juice=Juice – “Ashita Yarou wa Bakayarou”
