The sound design is still basically comprised of motorcycle engine noises and the sound of the wind slamming onto your helmet when you’re driving around the Isle of Man, and some catchy rock tunes when you’re in a menu.

This may come as disappointing news for VR owners especially when you consider the fact that the title has benefited from a two-year development cycle rather than the typical one-year we’ve seen since the modern WRC series began in 2010. It’s still a gorgeous game that features a shockingly beautiful recreation of the Isle of Man, even if it doesn’t provide the sensation of speed it should in entry-level consoles. French developer Kylotonn Games has confirmed they have no plans right now for WRC 8 to support VR.

The controls and physics are way more customizable this time around as well, so if you want to go back to how brutal TT Isle of Man was two years ago, feel free to do so.īesides this, it’s basically the same game when it comes to its presentation. This game, however, features revamped physics and slightly more precise controls, meaning that the act of braking and cornering is less of a nightmare and more of a fun challenge. Meaning that you would constantly crash into fences without a fair learning curve to make your adaptation process less unwelcoming. The original TT Isle of Man was really tough for newcomers, as it featured a brutally challenging AI, sensitive controls, and wonky physics. The main difference between TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 and its predecessor is in its gameplay. Who was the madman who thought that racing through narrow village roads with motorbikes was a good idea? Because it was!
The game even manages to provide a solid career mode spanning these three countries, as well as an open map that allows you to freely move around and crash onto walls at your own leisure. However, it features way more content than just that one track. Just like its predecessor, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 might be based around that one (very important) circuit, and it does feature a stupidly impressive recreation of all its thirty-seven miles of pure bone-shattering glory. It is one of the most insane races in the world, as pilots ride their bikes through ridiculously narrow village roads, all while averaging more than 150mph. It’s a thirty-seven mile long circuit that encompasses a good chunk of the roads from the Isle of Man, a British crown dependency located between the islands of Ireland and Britain. For the uninitiated, these TT Isle of Man games are obviously based on the world-famous motorbike racetrack known as Snaefell Mountain Course.
